Self catering Backpackers, R600 per room per night, bedding and towels not provided.
Situated at reception area where the Leopard trail starts and finishes, this is the perfect base to book for the night before and the night after you hike. The Backpackers consists of three separate rooms each with their own entrance. Each room has 4 single beds, solar power for lights and charging electronic devices, and a safe for valuables.
There is one communal bathroom with toilets and hot gas showers. There is a large, well equipped shared kitchen with gas fridge/freezer, gas stove top, hot running water and wash facilities. Connected to the kitchen is a covered veranda with a portable braai as well as a fire pit.
The rate is R600 per room per night – please bring your own sleeping bags, bedding and towels.
You can find relief on hot days in the large cement reservoir swimming pool that is available to all guests at Cedar Falls, fed by clear, fresh water from the mountain stream.
Please note that as we are in a World Heritage Site, we are unable to accommodate pets.
Check in is anytime from 3pm onwards, and check out by 9am. Guests are welcome to arrive earlier and leave later if you want to do walks, however please ensure you are out of your accommodation so that our team can start cleaning for the next guests.

The experience at the Just for Two cottage in the Baviaanskloof was something that my wife and I would never forget. The hospitality of the people and the food were great. If the time is right, we would like to visit again. We already ‘advertised’ this adorable cottage and the scenery to family and friends who are now also eager to go there and experience themselves.

This was our first trip to Bavianskloof and we found it amazing. The project made very interesting reading and found Cob Cottage very comfortable, warm and cozy especially as it was cold and windy outside.
We did our trip all wrong, as we did not allow enough time to explore the immediate surrounds, so there will be another trip and visit to Cob Cottage.

We had a great time on your farm, it was a dream come true. Willem and Martha were excellent hosts and went out of their way to make our stay pleasant. The cob house was great – the insulation was perfect and the cold never got to us. We walked all over the property, exploring the old irrigation network, walking up the valleys and marveling at the incredible beauty of the surrounding mountains as it constantly changes with the movement of the sun. We plan to be back with friends.

We had a wonderful three days in Baviaanskloof staying in Cob Cottage. We really loved the cottage and found it very comfortable and well equipped. Unfortunately we didn’t manage to take any of the walks as the weather was extremely hot while we were there, but I guess that gives us a good excuse to return!!
We really enjoyed our meal cooked by Marta and also the lovely loaf of bread. Both Marta and Willem were very attentive and made our stay most pleasurable…they are outstanding hosts!
We will be coming back to Baviaanskloof as three days was nowhere near long enough to enjoy all it has to offer and hope to make use of your services again!

Thank you, we had a wonderful stay and loved every minute of it. The cottage was perfect and the setting ‘to die for’. We walked to the waterfall (or nearly) as we had to swim to get through the other side of the deep kloof then couldn’t face the walk to the end to see the falls in bare feet and swimming costumes – too hot and stones too sharp! But we loved it all and saw so much wildlife.
