Sleeps 8 with bedding and towels provided.  R320 per person self catering, with a minimum of 4 People.

Surrounded by the red cliffs of the Baviaanskloof and with a beautiful view down the Cedar Valley, this farm house caters for the visitor who likes to nurture themselves in simple comfort and style. The century old house has been beautifully renovated to provide a tranquil and sheltered refuge among the rugged terrain of the kloof. There are four inside bedrooms and an outside room on the veranda.  Sleeping options in the Cedar Farmhouse include:

  • One double room with king size bed
  • Three twin rooms with two single beds in each.
  • Outside veranda room with a bunk bed.

There are two bathrooms, both with baths and one with a shower. A spacious lounge, a large dining room and a well-equipped kitchen, and a beautiful wraparound veranda make you feel comfortable and at home. Close to the house is a braai/barbecue area set in a landscaped indigenous garden – a stunning setting for star-filled nights around the fire.

You can find relief on hot days in a large cement reservoir behind the house fed permanently with water from the mountain stream.

Please note that due to us being in a World Heritage Site, we are unable to accommodate pets.

Check in is anytime from 2pm onward, and check out by 10am. Guests are welcome to arrive earlier and leave later if you want to do walks, however please ensure you are out of your accommodation so that our team can start cleaning for the next guests.

Please note this is un-serviced accommodation, though for stays of four days or more we will organise to have the farmhouse cleaned and new linen and towels provided. Please make sure that you arrange this when you make your booking and before your arrival.

We had an absolutely fantastic time at Cedar Falls! What a wonderful place!

Julia

Thank you, we really loved our stay at Cedar Farmhouse and the exquisite farm. We enjoyed the hike above the house and going to the labyrinth. We also enjoyed brisk walks along the farm road.

Willem and Marta were exceptionally friendly and willing to help when needed.

We will certainly highly recommend a visit to the truly beautifully secluded farm.

Ann and Tony

It was a real treat to stay in the house which is so wonderfully appointed.  We enjoyed conversations with Willem and the fire he lit for us in the lounge was a real treat.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and all four of us would have liked to stay at least one more day.

John and Heather

We have had a wonderful time on our 3-week trip around the Karoo, and the stay at the Cedar farmhouse was one of the highlights.

We found the farmhouse very comfortable, and the fire made it very cosy. Heather loved the size of the kitchen, and made some memorable meals.

We loved the indigenous vegetation all around, and the garden around the farmhouse. The cedar trees were of course one of the highlights.

We hope it won’t be long before we return to Baviaanskloof!

Shari

We had a great time at Cedar Farmhouse. It’s a really beautiful setting, we loved the walk up to the waterfall (even if the swims were a bit cold!), and Willem and Marta were great, friendly, and only too ready to assist with any questions we had.
